The Rich Fool

Hazrat Isa* spoke these words to the crowd:

"Watch out, and guard yourselves from becoming greedy, because your life is not about having numerous possessions."

Then he gave them an example, saying:

'A particular rich man's farm had an exceptionally good harvest, and he thought to himself, saying, "What shall I do, because I have nowhere to store my crops?"

Then he said, "This is what I will do: I will demolish my barns, and build much bigger ones; and I will store all my produce and my goods in them. Then I will say to myself:#  'Man#, you have plenty of wealth in store for many years; take it easy, eat, drink, and enjoy yourself.' "

But God said to him, "You fool, tonight your soul# will be taken from you, then who will get the things which you have stored up?"

Such is the situation with him who stores up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God."

[Luke 12:15-21]
