The chart below illustrates how the Hebrew Sabbatical and Jubilee years and
the events of the final 7 years of Daniel's 70x7s of years, relate to major
Jewish historical events from the start of "Herod the Great's" rule when
he conquered Jerusalem in BC37 to Herod Aggripa receiving "Herod the Great's"
territory in AD 38/39.
The final 7 years started at the beginning of the 30th Jubilee year and ended
just before the start of the following Sabbatical year.
THE HEBREW CALENDAR
The Hebrew calendar is punctuated by multiples of 7.
The Hebrew week begins at sunset Saturday and has 7 days. The last day of
each week is the Sabbath [i.e. from Friday sunset to Saturday sunset].
Hebrew years are in multiples of 7. Every 7th. year is a Sabbatical year.
Sabbaticals are in multiples of seven . Every seventh Sabbatical year is
a Jubilee year. So Jubilee years are at 49 year intervals.
HEBREW MONTHS AND YEARS
The Hebrew year had 12 lunar months each starting with the new moon.
Periodically extra days were added to years to keep the Hebrew seasonal
festivities in step with the solar year and its seasons. So the counting
of Hebrew years will tally with the way we count years with the possible
exception that an event in mid Autumn might be one year different.
The first month of the year was in the Spring and called was initially called
Abib and later Nisan. The very first month was when the children of Israel
came out of Egypt. The remaining 11 months are numbered, 2nd month, 3rd month
etc.
However, Sabbatical and Jubilee years did not begin with the first
month. They began with 'The Feast of Trumpets' which was on the first day
of the 7th. month later called Tishri. So that even though the first month
of the Hebrew year was in the Spring the counting of Sabbatical and
Jubilee years began and finished in the Autumn.
That is why the first Sabbatical began in the Autumn (7 years after they
came out of Egypt) and the first Jubilee also began in the Autumn (49 years
after they came out of Egypt).
Prophesies relating to the captivity number the reign of monarchs in years
beginning with the seventh month (Tishri).
For these reasons, since these years straddle western years, we have represented
them thus: BC 38/37. For example AD 20/21 represents the year that began
in the Autumn of AD 20 and ended in the Autumn of AD 21.

THE CHART AND THE LAST SEVEN YEARS OF DANIEL'S
WEEK
THE FIRST HALF OF THE LAST SEVEN
THE LORD'S THREE AND A HALF YEAR MINISTRY.
The Lord Jesus was born in the Autumn of BC5. He began his ministry at the
start of the 30th. Jubilee in the Autumn of AD 26 when he was baptised by
John the Baptist in Jordon, was announced by John, twice, as "the Lamb of
God who takes away the sin of the world". Then ,some days later, the Lord
Jesus made his memorable Jubilee speech in the synagogue of Nazareth.
In the Spring of AD30, half way through the seven years at the Passover,
he was crucified for the sins of the world.
THE LAST HALF OF THE LAST SEVEN
THE PETER USES THE KEYS TO OPEN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN - THE CHURCH
The Lord Jesus rises from death and appears several times to his apostles
. He commissions them to preach the good news of salvation before being ascending
into heaven.
Peter is the first to preach the way into the kingdom to the Jews on the
day of Pentecost AD 30, 7 weeks after the crucifixion.
Peter is also the first to preach the way into the kingdom the the Gentiles
three and a half years later in the autumn of AD 33.
Thus Peter used the keys the Lord had entrusted to
him7 and thus the covenant was confirmed with the
last week of Daniels 70x7s of years.

Dates: Hebrew months were lunar. Extra days added to make up the
solar year, to keep the annual festivities in step with the seasons.
The first Hebrew month [Abib/Nisan] started in late March or early April.
Hebrew years began with the seventh Hebrew month. It started mid
September. |

Even though the Senate declared Herod 'the Great' king in
BC40 <<5424>>10 he did not began reigning
over the Jews until he gained control of Jerusalem in January BC 37
<<6082>>10 so Jews would count his years of reign
from January BC27.<<5476>>10
Herod began building the temple in the 18th year of his
reign.
<<5944>>910 BC 37 being
the 1st.of his reign, the 18th would be BC20. |

The Lord Jesus was crucified at Passover time, in the Spring.
So it would be Autumn when he started his ministry three and a half years
earlier. As he had just turned 30 years of age [Luke
3:21-23] 4 it follows that he was born in Autumn.
Several secular time factors help us to ascertain with a reasonable
degree of accuracy the year in which the Lord Jesus was born:
The death of Herod "the Great" (25 November BC4
) <<6082>>10
The 15th year of Tiberius reign (AD25/27)
4
The 46th. year of building Herod's the temple.5

|
Tiberius began to reign as viceroy in the summer of AD 12,
two years before Augustus died.
<<6197/8>>10 John started baptising
in the 15th year of Tiberius reign, (summer AD 26 to summer AD 27).
[Luke 3:1-2] |
|

|
Building work on the temple had been going on for 46
years.2 [John 2:13-22] |

|
Daniel 9:27 predicts 7 years would be spent establishing
the Messiah's covenant with many (Jews and Gentiles). It was sealed with
the Lord 's blood during the Passover of AD 30 (Spring), finalised with the
Jews on the day of Pentecost and with the Gentiles three and a half years
later (Autumn ,AD 33). This completed the final 7 years of the 70 times
7 predicted in Daniel 9:24 3 and sealed up the 70 times
7 year vision. |

The Lord gave Peter the keys of the Kingdom of Heaven.
(Matthew 16:19) He opened the kingdom to Jews (Acts

|
Paul and Cornelius were both
baptised in the last year of Daniel's 70x7 years. The events in Acts
8:1-3, 9:1-31 and Acts 8:4-40, 9:32-12:25 occurred concurrently. |

|
Herod Agrippa I, oppressed the church 3.1/2 years from AD 41 to
44, see Acts 12. He ruled from AD 37 to 44. Acts 12:23 records his
death. |
